One day, a 6-year-old boy’s grandmother asked him to squeeze through the narrow mouth of the wooden barrel in the house, a space only large enough for a child, to
clean it.

Once inside, as they cleaned, they sang together as they used to. But that day, the boy discovered that his voice resonated powerfully with the echo inside the barrel, and he was pleased to feel grown-up.
